Bodega Los Cedros

per person

Bodega Los Cedros is a Mexican vineyard located in the Sierra de Arteaga, Coahuila. It has been committed to wine harvesting since 2012. It began because of the passion and dream a family had to produce high quality wines in a magical place, which has existed for over 100 years, called “El Cedrito.”

The altitude, the land and the forest give a unique character to the atmosphere and contrasting climate of El Cedrito, and it is why our wines acquire a unique flavor, color, transparency and aroma.

In 1911, Rosendo Dávila bought land in the Sierra de Arteaga, nestled in it is “Rancho El Cedrito”, which has been a beloved part of our family for five generations. In 2009 our father, Rosendo A. Villarreal invited us to plant a vineyard and to produce the high-quality wines from Bodega Los Cedros.

A large number of vineyards were visited in countries with a long wine-growing tradition, and specialized advice was sought from Mr. José Milmo, developer of the new era of Casa Madero. Under his guidance, their current vineyard and state-of-the-art winemaking facilities were stablished.

Bodega Los Cedros won a double gold medal for its 2016 Pinot Noir wine, one gold for its 2015 Malbec wine, one gold for its 2016 Rosé Wine and one silver for Fusión 2015 wine.

Paleontological Landmark

MAMUT DE COLUMBIA

Did you know?

Inhabitant of the northeast region of Mexico just over 10,000 years ago, the Mammuthus columbi, also known as the Columbia Mammoth, was a large pachyderm, reching 4 meters in height and 10 tons in weight.

It bore a close resemblance to today’s Asian elephants, as it did not possess the characteristic woolly mammoth coat of fur. Its long fangs of up to 4 meters allowed it to defend itself against its predators.

The territory that houses Bodega Los Cedros today is occupied by coniferous forests and has a privileged climate, used to consist mainly of grasslands and thickets where this majestic inhabitant thrived, and which serves as a reference to the greatness of the wines that are produced here.

”Vinos & Dinos” a wine and paleontological tour which came toghether thanks to the unified efforts between society and government, offers our visitors a unique tourist experience in Mexico.
