Rincón Colorado is also known as Valley of the Dinosaurs, it belongs to the municipality of General Cepeda, it has a small population of 1,177 inhabitants. It is the first paleontological site in the country adapted for public visits for the purposes of research, conservation and informing the world of the fossil richness of millions of years that exist in the state of Coahuila.
It has an area of almost 9 hectares in which a high concentration of dinosaur remains are protected, among them the species Velafrons Coahuilensis, which until now has not been found in any other part of the world. Countless science figures have gathered at Rincon Colorado to explore the land, rich in prehistoric remains. Over the course of several decades, fossil remains, skin impressions, shells, wood fragments, fruits and dinosaur tracks have been discovered. The “Rincón Colorado Paleontological Museum” in the area will familiarize us more with the elements found in that area.
