It was named in honor of the Aztec deity Quetzalcóatl, the “feathered serpent”. It is one of the largest flying creatures that has ever existed on Earth, with a wingspan which was approximately 11.9 meters and it weighing between 65 and 90 kilograms. It was part of the group of flying reptiles (pterosaurs), which were mostly scavengers and ate fish.
Located in the desert plains of this valley is Vinícola Parvada. Here, Quetzalcoatlus soared through the sky, spreading its wings to fly above the lands that today occupy these vineyards and that produce grapes which over time. are transformed into wine.
